Artist in Residency 2011
Into the lead up to the celebration of children's week 2011 Pocketfool is currently artist in residency with city of Melbourne child care centres Lady Huntingfield CC , Melbourne City CC, Hotham Hub CC, North Melbourne CC, Central Carlton CC.
Pocketfools Aim is to enrich the children's experience of participating in a interactive performance of "Wishhhh!" by exploring the themes, its visual and musical elements, the inspiration and theatrical techniques involved in crafting a performance via workshops, in weeks prior to attending the performance of "Wishhh!" to be performed during children's week at ARTPLAY.
The drawings, construction and ideas generated by the children in these workshops will be used by Artist Geoffrey Ricardo to incorporate their ideas into the final design of suitcase filled with nesting boxes... which the children will discover when they are joined by their families in participating in the interactive performance of "Wisshh! "
At the end of each performance the child care centre will each be presented with their piece of suitcase art to do as they will. Pocketfool is excited about this opportunity and looks forward to the imaginative outcome!
